BSAF meets approximately six times per year. Two of these events are joint meetings with BIONET, the Southern California chapter of the American Biological Safety Association [ABSA]. The Fall Joint Meeting is held in Northern California (usually in September, timed to avoid the ABSA meeting in October), and the Spring joint meeting is held in Southern California (usually in March, timed to avoid the Buick Open).

31st Control of Biohazards Course

Baltimore, Maryland - April 19-23, 2010

The [Hopkins’ Baltimore, MD] Control of Biohazards Course, the 31st year of the often
imitated but never duplicated course, will be held at the Johns Hopkins MtWashington
Conference Center
 and Hotel from Monday April 19th through early afternoon on Friday,
April 23, 2010

The course consists of in depth lectures, wet laboratory, informal discussions with course
faculty, and review of biosafety audiovisual materials. Theoretical and applied biosafety
principles will be covered. Prior knowledge of biosafety is not required.

 

A thousand page course manual with citation sources provides more in-depth information
including data tables and graphics used in the lectures and expanded reference material.
The manual is in a four inch binder and weighs 10 pounds, so plan for this oversize package
when you travel.
